      The Modern Literature and Culture Research Centre (Ryerson University) is excited to invite you to celebrate the release of Irene Gammel’s I Can Only Paint: The Story of Battlefield Artist Mary Riter Hamilton (MQUP), a major 400-page study of Hamilton’s vast, underexplored body of war work featuring rare photographs, paintings and letters, and a compelling examination of how art can navigate through grief, loss, and empathy.

      The UBC International Canadian Studies Centre in collaboration with Green College is pleased to present the 2019 McLean Lecture Series. Entitled “Cold, Dark, and Dangerous: The Arctic and Outer Space”, the series will be delivered by Professor Michael Byers, the Brenda and David McLean Chair in Canadian Studies.
